The Best of 2012

Sorry I haven't been around...this holiday season has been crazy busy! We just got back to our house after being on the road for over a week!

Since today is the last day of 2012, I thought I would share some of my favorite pictures of the year. Looking back, it turns out that 2012 was pretty good to me!

Let's start with my favorite picture from last week...
A quick photo at our friend Jenny's holiday party might be one of my favorite pics ever!

And since I don't want this to be the longest post ever, let's shorten the rest of 2012 into a collage!
1. My best friend and I telling the world we are best friends. Deal with it.
2. Letting my baby niece, Olivia, fall asleep on me for the first time...heart=melted
3. Parker holding my hand ALL the way to the park. This is a big accomplishment for me lol.
4. The birth of beautiful Olivia Layne!
5. Halloween with some great people. (Also I am kind of obsessed with my badass Little Red costume)
6. Exploring our new city together. We are truly blessed to be here!
7. The car show Nick made me go to which I ended up loving.
8. Sarah's fab baby shower. Queen Sass and Sassafrass!
9. Road-tripping with one of my favorite people in the whole wide world!
10. Getting the Goose Loose with Jenn who left me for Texas.
11. One of our last trips to the Dog Beach in San Diego.
12. Going out with the bestest. Just one of my favorite pictures of us.
13. No 2012 list would be complete without mentioning Stagecoach!! So much fun!!
14. Helping out with The So Cal Blogger Meet-Up with these lovelies.
15. One of the best trips to Santa Barbara ever!
16. Of course, dancing and singing with Nelly on Stage (please ignore the fact that I look huge, I have since gotten in shape!).

There you have it. Some of my top moments from 2012! To tell you the truth, I could have added a lot more things. I had an amazing year, and honestly can't wait to see what God has in store for me in 2013!

Happy New Years Eve!!!

Spreading the Love

Want to know one of my secret favorite parts of Christmas?

Christmas Cards.

That's right. When I was little I would look through all the Christmas cards we got, even though I had no idea who most of them were from. I loved the idea of receiving and sending a little love to the important people in your life.

Now I am a grown-up, living with my amazing boyfriend, and people are starting to considering us one of those important people...
Every Christmas Card (and Birthday card for Nick) we got warmed my heart. We are so unbelievably lucky to have people in our lives that care about us. Your little cards of love mean more than you know!

And, in case you were wondering what our card looked like...
Ummm yeah. I am obsessed with it! And Hudson's face??? I mean, c'mon...

If you didn't get a card from us...it's not because we don't love you, it's because we are broke and couldn't afford that many. But think of this as our virtual Christmas Card to you!

Happy Holidays everyone! Try and spread the love this season!
You never know what small gestures mean to someone...

Coffee Talk 12.20

It's my favorite time of the week! Coffee Talk with The Spunky Poser!!
{via}

1. What type of phone do you have?
I have an iPhone 4 with a cracked screen. No, I have not got it fixed yet. No, I have no plan on getting it fixed.

2. Look to your right, what do you see?
I see a silhouette of my pup that my mom made me! Want to see?
{via}
This isn't in my house, but you get the idea. Don't you love it? Wanna buy it? Well my mom sells them on her Etsy Shop (yes she is this talented, no I didn't get that gene).

3. List 5 random facts about yourself...
a. I am a Christian, and proud of it!
b. I am a huge superhero/comic book/sci-fi nerd. I blame growing up with two older brothers.
c. I love music, and don't believe in listening to just one genre. My iTunes is all over the place and unpredictable, and I love it.
d. I would talk in Movie Quotes all day if society would allow me.
e. I love styling people. No, seriously. If you want a personal shopper, I am your girl.

4. What is that one talent you wish you were great at?
I ALWAYS wished I could sing, or was just musically talented in general. But don't worry, I don't let it stop me. I shamelessly sing in the car.

5. Go to Wikipedia.org and hit random. The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band. Go to quotationspage.com and click random quotes. The last four or five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first ...album. Go to weheartit.com and click on “explore”. Seventh picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover. Use picmonkey.com to put it all together. Now show us your album :)
Well this is fun! Here is my album!
Is it weird that I think that this looks like an actual Album cover from a hipster band??????

The Best Gift This Year

**Just as a precursor to my family and friends reading this. This is not an excuse for you to not give me presents. I still want them.**

Christmas gifts are great, really great, but sometimes other things in your life can be just as much as a gift. This Christmas, I am super excited, because I am getting the best gift of all...

Nick is spending Christmas with me!
{ain't he cute? And good with kids...a keeper if you ask me}

I know that seems weird, and not that big of a deal, but wait for it. In all three years of dating, we have never spent Christmas together. Which may not seem so strange, but here is the thing about my boyfriend...

His birthday is the day after Christmas. Yes that is right. I have never spent Nick's birthday with him in THREE YEARS! So not only do I get to have him around for all of our Christmas festivities, but I get to be there for him on his special day.

I can't wait to make his birthday awesome for him, because I am sure that the combined Birthday/Christmas celebration is not so awesome. So we are going to make his birthday it's own great, amazing, special, awesomsauce day! No combined gifts here!

I am so excited to spend this time with him! I really couldn't ask for a better gift....

Coffee Talk 12.13

It's that time of the week again. Coffee Talk thanks to our lovely host, miss Natalie over at The Spunky Poser.

Speaking of coffee, did you know my super talented mom makes adorable mugs (see below!)? I have a pair, and use them every day! You can find her shop over at Reinventing the Ordinary!

This week's Coffee Talk is all about the best time of the year...CHRISTMAS!!

1. What is your winter "must haves"?
First of all, can I just say that winter is my favorite fashion season. I wait all year to bust out my boots, scarves, and sweaters. I know that it doesn't get very cold here, but I like to pretend I live in Alaska for the two weeks it is under 70 degrees. Even though I live in Southern California, I own more boots than any other type of shoe. Maybe I should move somewhere colder?

2. What is on your Christmas wishlist this year? (I know this has been asked, but I wanna know!)
Well funny you should mention that, I just posted my Wish List two days ago. So I suppose I will just save myself some trouble and send you to that post (if you really care what I want).

3. What is your favorite holiday coffee/tea/alcoholic beverage?
Oh my boyfriend makes a delicious concoction of Hot Spiced Cider and Southern Comfort....it is to die for...literally...

4. Top 3 must have holiday desserts?
Well I think everyone needs to have pie during the holidays correct? I think Pumpkin Pie or Apple Pie is my favorite. I also would like to count Hot Chocolate as a dessert here (with extra marshmallows). Annnnd some kind of holiday cookie to round out third, and my belly.

5. What time do you get up to open presents from Santa with your family? Do you clean up right away or do you leave it there in a huge pile until it's the night before trash day?
When I was younger we used to get up at the crack of dawn. Now we all kind of mosey up when we see fit. But we have to open our stockings first, and then presents. And we also have a trash bag open whilst opening presents to make clean-up efficient (my mom and grandparents are clean, I would probably leave a pile if left to my own devices).

6. What is your New Years resolution?
To become more organized and be smart with my money. Or win the lottery...whichever...

Wanna link-up? It's not too late!!

Christmas Cheer

Tomorrow my parents come down to start Christmas festivities with the family, and spread Christmas cheer. You know what that means...
{via}

That's right.
Let the Christmas songs and movies begin (actually I started on December 1st, so more like continue)!

Hope you are starting to get in the Holiday spirit!

p.s. I really just wanted an excuse to post this Image. You are welcome.
