Fashion Fantasy

As you may know, I love vintage clothing. In fact, if I were going to actually do something for Halloween this year, I would have been a Stepford Wife.
My inspiration can be credited to the wonderful January Jones, or rather, Betty Draper in Mad Men.

Mad Men does a great job at capturing the fashion from this era! The pastels, the full skirts, I would literally wear some variation of this everyday if I could. The best part is Betty Draper dresses like this while making dinner and taking care of her children AT HOME! Do you know what I wear at home? Sweatpants. And a very, very, absurdly baggy shirt.

I mean, she smokes constantly, and her and Don don't have the best of relationships, but we will just glaze past that.....

So, if you are anything like me, take a second to appreciate the lady-like fashion that is Betty Draper.
Ignore the cigarettes, oogle the fashion. :)
The red lips, the blue dress and gloves. I love. I want.
Of course, Don Draper is quite the nice little accessory. Also, can I please get that headboard? K, thanks.

There you have it, the fashion of Betty Draper. I will now be entering in my time machine, and go buy fabulous dresses like these for probably somewhere around 50 cents each. That's how much things cost back then right?

But, before I go on an intense vintage search, I leave you with a real life beautiful housewife. I would say she was, and still is, even more beautiful than January Jones...
It's Mimi!! (That is my grandma, by the way) Just look how proper and pretty in her beautiful dress and perfect little pumps. So gorgeous!

Until Next Time. :)

I love Betty Draper, her style is so chic for her era, I've been overindulging in past episodes of Mad Men as of late. I'm kinda all about the plot! its great no?
