Guest Post: Sprinkles in Spring

{I have already told you how much I love Kara. So without further adieu, here is her lovely guest post.}

Hi everyone, I'm Kara from Sprinkles in Springs. Kai asked me to guest post for her while she's away, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to share two colors that are inspiring me right now- mint green and turquoise.

I was first inspired by mint when I saw the asymmetrical, loosely woven mint green sweater from Alexander Wang Spring 2011. Shortly after that, I bought my first piece of mint clothing (this sweater). Turquoise came to my attention recently when I was shopping at CVS and spotted Essie's Turquoise & Caicos polish. I'm addicted to the color now and have been wearing it (and staring at it) ever since.

Here are a few things you can wear to celebrate these two hues:
3. Polish
5. Dress
6. Tank
7. Dress

I've even been contemplating using the colors next time I redecorate. I'd love to paint a whole room in mint or use some turquoise pops of color in some way. Here's some rooms that are inspiring me:
2. I took this photo at an old hotel built in the 1920s, The Cavalier in Virginia Beach. The pool room/sunroom was painted this gorgeous turquoise color that complimented the water beautifully.
3. The hotel lobby was just as grand and featured a minty turquoise color against cream molding.

Thank you, Kai, for letting me guest post! Good luck in San Francisco :)

All so pretty! The jade Forever 21 ring I have on today would go perfectly with all the stuff you posted!

I love those colors, too! I was amazed to see Essie nail polish at CVS last week and that was the very same shade I was drawn to. I didn't buy it since I'd just purchased two little boxes of Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips (which I LOVE), but it's on my list for the very near future. So springy and happy.
